Grey Power loses tireless advocate for Seniors

Jan Pentecost QSM, has been a tireless advocate for seniors throughout her 14 years on the Federation Board. Recently Jan retired as President for family & health reasons. She will be sorely missed as a compassionate President of the organisation for the last 4 years, as well as for her commitment to thoroughly research major issues for supporting the Federation’s advocacy work throughout her 14 years on the Board.

A new President will be elected at the Federations AGM in June, and in the meantime our Vice-President, David Marshall, is filling the gap as Acting-President.

David said “We have lost a committed advocate who often worked 60 hours per week to ensure that the work of Grey Power as the leading organisation advancing the issues affecting NZ seniors was continued. As a volunteer her service was unstinting, despite the challenges and obstacle she encountered in leading the organisation.”

We sincerely thank Jan for her outstanding service over the last 14 years and wish her and Tony the very best in a well deserved time of retirement and refreshment.
